Lahore Fort. Lahore is an exceedingly ancient city; the current fort dates from the Mughal era but is built on top of earlier structures, some dating back the Indus Valley Civilization. The square building in the foreground is the personal quarters of the Badshah (Mughal Emperor). Recently a system of tunnels has been excavated; it leads to both the Fort and to the neighboring masjid.
